Courage is a pink dog who lives in Kansas near a fictional town called "Nowhere". He lives with two elderly people. A kind old woman named "Muriel", and her husband, a mean-spirited old man named "Eustace Bagge". They often run into various paranormal activity in Nowhere, where Courage has to fight or outsmart aliens, robots, monsters, zombies, scientists, criminals, and sometimes angry gods in order to defend and save his owners from trouble. He is easily frightened by these things, but does his best to face his fears and to try keeping Muriel and Eustace as safe as possible. He often relies on cartoon gestures to communicate. There is a running gag where Eustace would scare the crap out of Courage with a big green ugly mask saying "OOGA BOOGA BOOGA!". Sometimes, Eustace would get hit with Muriel's rolling pin as punishment for his actions.
